The PlateCrane EX is a simple, yet robust pick-and place robotic arm designed specifically for moving SLAS standard microplates in a laboratory for high- throughput applications. Multiple stack configurations are available to meet almost any need.
Supplied as standard with 2 stacks, plate capacity can be expanded to 15 stacks or up to three 10-stack carousels.
All PlateCrane systems come with SoftLinx V scheduling software. SoftLinx is an easy to use, drag and drop control program so that automated methods can be quickly and easily created.
With 360°+ (unlimited) horizontal rotation Hudson’s PlateCrane SciClops is flexible enough for automating any plate-handling task.
Supplied as standard with 5 stacks, plate capacity can be expanded to 15 stacks or up to three 10-stack carousels.
The PlateCrane is available with either a standard gripper *or a side gripper* for random access applications and are compatible with either landscape or portrait nest positions.

Load a stack of sample plates to be processed in the input stack.
The PlateCrane EX or PlateCrane SciClops will sense the stack height and automatically determine the number of plates in the stack before removing the first one, so you need not even tell the system how many plates are being loaded. Plates may be added on the fly to be processed without interacting with any software.
Hit the Start button in the Hudson software. Repeat as needed.
When signalled that the run is complete, unload the output stack, analyse your results and repeat as necessary to complete your study.
