Verulam Scientific is pleased to work with AmberGen enablers of pioneering discoveries in the life sciences by solving key problems that limit progress in biotechnology and medicine. Their approach combines patented techniques in proteomics, mass spectrometry and light-based control of biomolecules to innovate in the fields of spatial biology, diagnostics and therapeutics.
Miralys MALDI-IHC imaging reagents have been widely adopted by the worldwide mass spectrometric imaging (MSI) community for high-plex, multiomic and multimodal spatial imaging of intact proteins and unlabelled small molecules in tissue on a mass spectrometer.
At the heart of AmberGen’s MALDI-IHC platform are its patented photocleavable mass-tags (PCMTs). These mass-tags act as barcodes, which when detected by a MALDI Mass Spectrometer, enable simultaneous imaging of hundreds of targeted intact proteins in a tissue or dispersion of cells. This eliminates the need for iterative cycling required for some high-plex fluorescence imaging platforms.
A key feature of these novel PCMTs is the ability to readily conjugate them to antibodies or other molecular probes in a 1-step high-yield chemical reaction. The resulting Miralys™ antibody probes consist of peptide mass-tags covalently attached through patented PC-Linkers to an antibody with an optional fluorophore for multimodal fluorescence and MALDI imaging on the same sample.
Spatial multiomic imaging reveals spatial patterns of biomolecules within tissues, helping scientists understand complex biological systems, uncover disease mechanisms, guide precision medicine, accelerate drug discovery, and foster biomedical innovation.
Miralys builds upon the already strong spatial multiomic capabilities of matrix-assisted laser-desorption/ionization (MALDI) imaging to add new layers of biological insight. Now, researchers can visualize over 100 intact targeted protein distribution in the same tissue sample in which they have already imaged unlabelled small molecule such as drugs, lipids and other metabolites.
Miralys extends the multiomic capabilities of MALDI imaging allowing you to perform spatial multiomic imaging on the same sample with the same workflow, providing new insights.
Correlative Multimodal Imaging integrates two or more imaging techniques to capture diverse details about a single sample. This approach generates a more comprehensive profile of the specimen, offering insights into its macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic characteristics, including its structure, dynamics, function, and chemical makeup. Mass Spec Imaging and Miralys MALDI-IHC are especially well-suited for use in multimodal workflows. Various imaging modalities can be performed either before or after MALDI-IHC imaging.
Panels of Miralys probes are offered in either TurboPlex™ pre-mixed format, or VersaPlex™ fully configurable multi-vial format.
Unlike other technologies, Miralys™ Panels enable BOTH ultra-high-plex AND fast imaging.
Miralys Panels are ready-to-use curated collections of Miralys antibody imaging probes, designed and validated to reduce upfront assay development and validation time. The use of curated panels will significantly speed up your spatial discoveries.
