A top seller is their Metanephrines in urine HPLC kit. Metanephrines are an important metabolic marker for several tumours of the sympathoadrenal system, e.g. pheochromocytoma and neuroblastoma. Elevated levels of the catecholamines epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine are released by the tumours into the blood stream. These catecholamines are metabolised to several degradation products and finally are excreted in urine. The primary metabolites are metanephrine, normetanephrine and 3-methoxytyramine.

 

In this analytical method the metanephrines are quantitatively determined from urine by HPLC with electrochemical (EC) detection. Prior to HPLC analysis a short sample clean-up is performed in order to remove the sample matrix and to spike with the internal standard.
