In order to extract the molecules of interest (extraction of RNA, DNA, proteins, metabolites, etc.) from biological samples, sample preparation procedures generally include a tissue homogenization or cell disruption step.
The Precellys® homogenizers from Bertin Health & Life Sciences use bead-beating technology to homogenize biological samples, such as human, animal or plant tissues, or to lyse micro-organisms. Biological samples are ground via multi-directional movement (3D bead-beating), the speed of which can reach up to 10,000 rotations per minute, depending on the equipment. It takes just a few dozen seconds to homogenize samples, which are then ready for an analysis of the molecules of interest (nucleic acids, proteins, metabolites) using different analysis techniques: PCR, sequencing, Western Blot, liquid chromatography, etc. This represents a considerable time saving that simplifies sample preparation protocols.

MINILYS PERSONAL HOMOGENIZER
The Minilys is a compact and flexible tissue homogenizer to meet particular sample preparation needs for all laboratories working with biological samples.
Especially designed to offer optimal grinding, lysing and homogenizing efficiency, Minilys is capable of handling 3 x 2mL/0.5mL tubes or 1 x 7mL tube to process any type of samples. Its manual but not screw-in locking system makes Minilys an easy-pick-up laboratory instrument.
Affordable, Minilys offers the best personal homogenization solution. Minilys homogenizer is ideal for daily lab workflow. Associated with the appropriate lysing kit, Minilys can even grind difficult samples like grains or hairs.

PRECELLYS 24 TOUCH HOMOGENIZER
Precellys® 24 Touch is the ideal lab instrument to homogenize any kind of biological sample, from the softest to the hardest, regardless of its origin (animal tissues, plant tissues, microorganisms…).
It can treat up to 24 samples at a time and has been validated on more than 1,500 different samples: from brain, muscle and heart samples, to very hard material such as bones, hair and seeds.

CRYOLYS EVOLUTION
Cryolys Evolution is a patented cooling system compatible with the Precellys Evolution tissue homogenizer. It prevents thermo-sensitive samples from heat degradation during homogenization process.
Based on dry ice sublimation, it enhances the efficiency of molecular extraction, resulting in premium quality analysis, maintaining the desired temperature between 0 and 10°C before and during the tissue homogenization.
The Cryolys Evolution unit must run off Precellys Evolution and may be purchased separately.
The Precellys Evolution tissue homogenizer software monitors the temperature for fully accurate results. It allows an optimal protection of the sensitive molecules from heat degradation. Cryolys Evolution is the ideal solution when working on native state thermo-sensitive molecules such as active RNA, siRNA, metabolites, enzymes, proteins while getting an hight yield extraction.
