Birds have always held a special place in our hearts, which is why we celebrate them on National Bird Day every 5th January! While birds are amazing, they’re also a massive animal group under threat as avian flu spreads through the poultry farms of the UK.
Sean O'Connor was invited by the Chemistry Team at Ousedale School, Newport Pagnell, to give their Year 12 students a talk on the 30 years since he was sitting in their seats as a young 17 year old with no idea where his Chemistry A-Level could take him.
Verulam Scientific will be closing for the festive break on Friday 23rd December and reopening again on Tuesday 3rd January.

As we approach Christmas, images of the traditional roast dinner, with a large turkey at the centre of the table, are everywhere. Unfortunately, this year we may be struggling to get that traditional turkey as avian flu spreads through the poultry farms of the UK.
